Is there are standard price for the wedding dresses made by designers? From the figures mentioned, the answer is no because their reputation is what dictates the price. You may even be surprised to know that their sizing is different because each of them follows different standards.

But do you always have to hire a well known wedding dress designer? Not so because there are others that charge lower and they have shops of their own that can also do an excellent job. You should ask friends and family that have marched down the aisle for a good recommendation because they should know better after all their preparations.

But what if you really want something from one of the top designers mentioned? Well, one trick is to see if this is available in the bridal section of the store. Instead of looking for an outfit for a bride, they buy the one for the bridesmaid and then make some changes so this becomes a wedding dress.

These wedding dress designers do not only make wedding dresses. Chances are they also have a few formal evening items that can also be turned into a wedding dress.

Another option is to borrow a wedding dress made by one of these designers from your friends or family members. This is still in good condition and lying around somewhere so you can try it on and if it is alright with them, this can be altered so this can look good on you.

But if money is no object, you can expect to pay a 50% down payment for work to begin. In fact, you are advised to pay this amount using your credit card so if there are any problems, you can talk with the credit card company about reimbursing some of the money that was paid beforehand.

When your dress has been made, inspect the item thoroughly to make sure all the bottoms are secure, and there are no gaps in the stitching. If there are any beads, make sure it is glued properly because you do not want them to fall off before and during your wedding.

If you are happy with what the designer has done, this is the time you pay the difference. If however there are some adjustments that need to be made, be sure that this is completed beforehand.

You can either have a wedding dress made or bought outright from a wedding dress designer. In the end, no one will even care who made it because no one is going to look at the label. But if someone should ask, wouldn’t it be cool to tell them that someone like Vera Wang made it?
